My mission is to restore your best health with nutrition and lifestyle adjustments
Hi, my name is Stephanie Leung-Coleman. I am a UK-accredited Functional Nutritionist and I help people feel better with targeted foods and nutriceuticals. As a Functional Nutritionist, I first look at your health reserve and the state of your body systems with the goal of restoring function. We start with a detailed health survey and functional testing, to identify which system needs supporting. From there, you will get a detailed written report on your status and a health plan that is personalised and practical.
I believe when you can understand the biology of why you feel the way you do, and understand how eating a specific way may alter that, it can be empowering! I can help you understand the WHY – “Why do I feel the way I do?” and the WHAT – “What can I do to feel better?”, so you can regain confidence, remove uncertainty and enjoy life to its fullest!
I spent four years at the prestigious Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION) in the UK studying to be a Nutritional Therapist, a recognised complementary health practitioner by the Professional Standards Board. Other than the fundamentals of Nutritional Science, we were taught body system network and disorders, functional and diagnostic testing as well as the application of Functional Medicine into Clinical Practice.
As a member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT), I adhere to the professional standards of the Code of Professional Practice that governs standards in nutritional therapy.
As a registered member of The Complementary and Healthcare Council (CNHC) is a professional registry recognised by the Professional Standards Authority in the UK.
I have advanced training in nutrition for cancer and integrative oncology with ION, Arizona State University and the American Institute of Integrative Oncology. I am also a certified Master Health Coach.
Food As Medicine Quotes
“We need to move beyond asking what drug will treat the symptoms, and instead ask what mechanism creates altered neurochemical or neurobiological function or systemic physiological change.”
~ Jeffrey Bland PhD (1946- ), “Father of Functional Medicine”
“Everyone has a doctor in him or her; we just have to help it in its work. The natural healing force within each of us is the greatest force in getting well. Our food should be our medicine. Our medicine should be our food.”
~ Hippocrates (460-370B.C.), “Father of Western Medicine”
“Optimum nutrition is the medicine of tomorrow.”
~ Linus Pauling PhD (1901-1994), double Nobel Prize winner
